About the Course
This course provides an opportunity to carry out practical CAD activities using a full range of commands and drawing environments. As a draftsman, it is important to be able to interpret and produce engineering drawings that help individuals and organizations to communicate ideas, design, manufacture products, and improve product performance.
This course offers the concepts and practical training of engineering drawing and computer-aided drawing using AutoCAD/Solid work. This course is the combination of two short courses viz. engineering drawing and AutoCAD/Solid works blended together especially for a person wanting to start his practical life as a draftsman.

This course is intended for High School Graduates, Job seekers.

The topics included in the course are as follows:
- Introduction to Engineering Drawing
- Assembly drawings
- AutoCAD/ Solidworks features
- Getting Started AutoCAD
- Drawing commands
- Dimensioning, editing of dimensions, styles
- 2D Isometric Drawing
- Modifying commands
- Producing basic 3D solid objects
- Saving, converting, and printing drawing
Assessment Strategies
- Assessment: Practical assignment/Practical exam
- Grading system: Achievement based
- Completion requirements: 60% passing rate
- Attendance: 80% of the total attendance, 20% or less of the total contact hours for absences
Certification
- Certificate of completion – Bahrain Polytechnic
- Achieve minimum of 80% attendance and 60% in all assessments
Training Duration
This course requires 200 hours (teaching-face to face) and 3 months’ work placement
Entry Requirements:
- Secondary school graduate
- Beginner/elementary user of English
