About the Programme
The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programme allows health care professionals to gain knowledge and skills that will enable them to plan for and apply infection prevention and control standards and guidelines in various health care setups to provide a healthy environment for all clients.
This programme will allow students to receive a certificate in infection prevention and control in 4 months and gain up-to-date knowledge that are required in this at your workplace and appreciable for career progression.
TARGET GROUP
This program is intended for healthcare workers and public health professionals, as it is focused on infection prevention and control.

COURSE CONTENTS
The program consists of two courses:
- IP6001: Infection Prevention and Control Principles
- IP6002: Infection Prevention and Control in Action
LEARNING AND TEACHING STRATEGIES
Besides the theoretical approach, hands on and work integrated learning methods will be applied in this program as the learners will be allocated in a hospital to observe and demonstrate procedures that have been taught in the classroom and skill lab. Attendance is essential to apply the gained knowledge in the clinical setups. learners will be assigned to clinical instructors who will participate in evaluating their performance. The majority of the program entails learners undertaking authentic problem-based learning activities in the classroom and the hospital in order to effectively organize and carry out practical infection prevention and control principles.
ASSESSMENT STRATEGIES
The designed assessment strategy assures learning through aligning the program learning outcomes to the assessment types. Those include and not limited to projects, participation in online forums, exams, clinical observations, portfolios, and presentations.
CERTIFICATION
- A certificate of completion will be awarded to learners upon their successful achievement of assessments.
- At least 70% of an aggregate result is expected form the overall assessment items.

The program is of 200 notional hours that extends over four-month period of time:
- IP6001: Infection Prevention and Control Principles

- IP6002: Infection Prevention and Control in Action
Course Dates: 24 Dec 2023 to 6 Feb 2024
Timing: (Sun-Tues-Wed)
Venue: Salmanya Hospital
